Timber Sale for Harry L. Thompson
Wilson County, North Carolina
Offered for sale is the first thinning of a 21.63 acre, natural stand of loblolly pine. The property is adjacent to the M.L.K. Parkway also known as Hwy 58, 1.4 miles north of the Hwy 264 Bypass in Wilson County.
This selective harvest will remove every 3rd row. The residual rows will be thinned from below, removing the smaller trees, to a target basal area of 85-90 square feet. If rows cannot be located, use a simulated 3rd row thinning by harvesting parallel thinning corridors approximately 10 feet in width on approximate 30 foot centers. Remaining trees will be thinned from below to a target basal area of 85-90. Within the stand, do not thin areas dominated by hardwood.
This is NOT all weather logging and work will not be permitted on wet soil.
Interested buyers should submit unit prices and a tentative start date. Rawlings Consulting Forestry reserves the right to reject any and all offers and may require on-site inspections of previously thinned stands.
