This timber did not sell on the designated sale date and is now subject to be sold if and when a reasonable offer is received. If a reasonable offer is not received, the timber will be rebid later this spring or early summer.

Offered for sale is a 52.08 acre stand of mature timber. Of the total acreage, 45.08 acres are to be clear-cut with the remaining 7.0 acres to be selectively harvested from within the stream side management zone.

The road frontage portion of the clear-cut area is comprised of old field Virginia pine of varying ages. Within the entire clear-cut area, pine sawtimber averages only 277 board feet per acre, pine Chip-N-Saw averages 1.8 tons per acre, and pine fiber averages 2.2 tons per acre. The eastern and northern portions of the clear-cut area are comprised primarily of quality hardwood sawtimber averaging 2,076 board feet per acre. The hardwood sawtimber is consist of yellow poplar, sycamore, white oak, red oak, green ash and sweetgum.

Access for logging will be directly from Long Road.

A stream-side management zone (SMZ) has been clearly marked on this property with orange flagging stating “Streamside Management Zone”. Selected trees marked with a large orange circle may be harvested from within the streamside management zone.
