Thursday, April 9, 2015 11:00 am
Chatham County, NC

Offered for sale by the Consulting Forester is a 30.34 acre stand of mature timber. Of the total acreage, 26.92 acres are to be clear-cut with the remainder, 3.42 acres, to be selectively harvested according the Jordan Lake Riparian Buffer rules.

Within the clear-cut portion of the timber sale area, pine sawtimber averages 1,584 board feet per acre, pine Chip-N-Saw averages 1.7 tons per acre, and pine fiber averages 1.8 tons per acre. Hardwood, primarily white oak, red oak, poplar and sweetgum, will almost double the volume with an additional 1,441 board feet per acre.

Access for logging will be the private road named Clubhouse Lane, from Highway 64. The neighbors placed asphalt on a small portion of the private path. As this was done without the landowners permission, loggers will not be responsible for damage to the asphalt.

A stream-side management zone (SMZ) has been clearly marked on this property with orange flagging stating “Streamside Management Zone”. Selected trees marked with a large orange circle may be harvested from within the streamside management zone.
