Timber Sale for Samuel G. & Ann W. Keel — Sold!

Offered for sale by the consulting forester are two young stands of pine timber with scattered hardwood totaling 78.0 acres, both to be clear-cut of all merchantable timber.

Within the total timber sale area, pine sawtimber averages 795 board feet per acre, pine chip and saw averages 13.5 tons per acre, and pine fiber averages 39.9 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber contributes an additional 524 boardfeet per acre. No timber will be harvested from within the stream-side management zones.

The logging access on the Edgecombe County farm is via a farm path from Hwy 11, located 1.1 miles north of Hwy 64. Logging access for the Martin County farm is also via a farm path f rom Chapman Road, 917 feet from the intersection of Salisbury Road. Both paths are indicated on the timber sale map.

Stream side management zones have been marked on the ground or follow the outside edge of the spoil pile and are indicated on the timber sale map. No timber will be harvested from within the stream-side management zones. Best Management Practices and applicable River Rules must be followed at all times.
