Offered for sale are two areas of above average quality timber totaling 18.039 acres.

The primary timber sale area, containing 13.489 acres is to be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Pine sawtimber averages 12,798 board feet per acre and 217 board feet per tree, with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 15.6 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber includes yellow poplar with 1,331 board feet per acre and sweetgum with 328 board feet per acre. All hardwood sawtimber contributes a total of 1,749 board feet per acre. Additionally, pine fiber will contribute 3.6 tons per acre while hardwood fiber will contribute 6.2 tons per acre.

A secondary sale area consisting of the stream side management zones and totaling 4.55 acres is to be selectively harvested in accordance with the Neuse River Rules. Trees to be harvested from within this area have been marked with a large orange “O”. It is important to note that paint from previous inventories can be found on every tree within the SMZ and these painted trees should not be confused with the trees to be harvested. Within the SMZ, pine sawtimber averages 2,766 board feet per acre and 329 board feet per tree. Hardwood sawtimber is dominated by yellow poplar with 1,215 board feet per acre and sweetgum with 1,167 board feet per acre. All hardwood sawtimber contributes a total of 2,605 board feet per acre.
