Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forester is a stand of mature timber totaling 64.56 acres which is to be clear-cut / clean-cut of all merchantable timber. Within the sale area, pine sawtimber, a mixture of virginia and loblolly, averages 989 board feet per acre and 120 board feet per tree, with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 6.7 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber includes yellow poplar with 2,022 board feet per acre, red oak with 782 board feet per acre, hickory with 530 board feet per acre and white oak with 335 board feet per acre. All hardwood sawtimber contributes a total of 4,326 board feet per acre. Additionally, pine fiber will contribute 11 tons per acre while hardwood fiber will contribute 12 tons per acre. A stream-side management zone adjacent to the Haw River has been marked on the ground as indicated on the map. No trees will be removed from within the stream side management zone. The access to the property is via the deeded easement and farm path from the end of the public portion of Obryant Road. At the end of Obryant road where it becomes a private dirt road, the easement goes straight off the end of the public road on what looks like a private drive-way. The path will go in front of a two story house with covered porch, behind the second house, then adjacent to a pasture before entering the property. Timber sale signs will point the way.

Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forester is a stand of high quality pine timber totaling 15.7 acres. The majority of this timber, totaling 11.2 acres, will be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Additionally, stream-side management zones, totaling 4.5 acres, will be selectively harvested of the marked trees. Within the clear-cut portion of the sale area, pine sawtimber averages 11,893 board feet per acre and 244 board feet per tree with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 11.3 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber totals 1,139 board feet per acre. Within the stream-side management zones, an additional 96 pines have been marked for harvest totaling 41,100 board feet with an average of 428 board feet per tree.

Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forester are two blocks of timber totaling 30.3 acres. The majority of this timber, totaling 26.6 acres, will be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Additionally, stream-side management zones, totaling 1.9 acres, will be selectively harvested of the marked trees and a longleaf area, 1.8 acres, will be selectively harvested to protect the longleaf. Within the clear-cut portion of the sale area, pine sawtimber averages 3,028 board feet per acre and 231 board feet per tree with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 2.4 tons per acre and pine fiber providing 6.75 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber totals 2,368 board feet per acre with hardwood fiber providing 12.7 tons per acre.

Offered for sale by the consulting forester is a first thinning of a 29.3 acre loblolly pine plantation. This selective harvest will remove every 5th row. The residual rows will be thinned from below, removing the smaller trees, to a target basal area of 80 square feet. If rows can not be located, use a simulated 5th row thinning by harvesting parallel thinning corridors approximately 10 feet in width on approximate 50 foot centers. Remaining trees thinned from below to a target basal area of 80. Within the stand, do not thin areas dominated by hardwood. Interested buyers should submit unit prices and a tentative start date. Offered for sale by the consulting forester is a first thinning on 18.4 acres of natural pine and a clear-cut on 1.2 acres of natural pine. This sale is a combination of three ownerships. On tract 1 and 2, parallel thinning corridors approximately 10 feet in width will be harvested on approximate 50 foot centers with the remaining trees thinned from below to a target basal area of 80. All hardwood fiber within the sale area is to be harvested. The larger trees, pine and hardwoods, around the perimeter and adjacent to the pond and drainages are not to be harvested or damaged. Tract 3, the future extension of Marwick Court, is a combination of clear-cut and thinning. The center portion or future road right-of-way will be clear-cut of all standing timber. After the trees on the ROW have been harvested, an additional 50 foot strip of trees will be thinned from below to a BA of 80. The outside edge of the thinning area has been marked with blue flagging. SJR Development accepts responsibility for any and all road damage resulting from logging trucks. Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forest sale is a stand of timber totaling 49.33 acres, to be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Within the timber sale area, yellow poplar sawtimber averages 3,014 board feet per acre and 163 board feet per tree, red oak, white oak, and other hardwoods contributing an additional 1,731 board feet per acre. Hardwood fiber provides 12.6 tons per acre.

Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forester arethree quality stands of timber totaling 62.771 acres. The majority of this timber, totaling 57.384 acres, will be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Additionally, stream-side management zones, totaling 5.387 acres, will be selectively harvested of the marked trees. Within the clear-cut portion of the sale area, pine sawtimber averages 4,657 board feet per acre and 174 board feet per tree with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 14.1 tons per acre and pine fiber providing 22.4 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber totals 1,877 board feet per acre with hardwood fiber providing 9.9 tons per acre.

Sold! — Offered for sale by the consulting forest is a stand of quality timber totaling 24.81 acres. The majority of this timber, totaling 23.63 acres, will be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Additionally, a stream-side management zone, totaling 1.17 acres, will be selectively harvested of the marked trees. Within the clear-cut portion of the sale area, pine sawtimber averages 3,696 board feet per acre and 171 board feet per tree with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 16.6 tons per acre and pine fiber providing 27.2 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber totals 3,054 board feet per acre with hardwood fiber providing 7.0 tons per acre.

Sold! — This timber was not sold at the sealed bid sale on July 15! At that time, the minimum acceptable bid has not received and all bids were rejected. Rawlings Consulting Forestry will continue to accept bids until a satisfactory offer is received or until the timber is rebid in the fall of 2010 or the winter of 2011. After the new bid date has been set this fall or winter, the normal bidding process will resume and all bids must be received as customary sealed bids as of the new date of sale. If you wish to have this all weather tract this winter when it gets wet, act now. Offered for sale are two areas of timber totaling 70.413 acres. The primary timber sale area, containing 63.421 acres is to be clear-cut of all merchantable timber. Pine sawtimber, a mixture of loblolly, shortleaf and virginia averages 1,814 board feet per acre and 153 board feet per tree, with pine chip & saw contributing an additional 18.5 tons per acre. Hardwood sawtimber includes yellow poplar with 2,350 board feet per acre, red oak with 972 board feet per acre, and white oak with 186 board feet per acre. All hardwood sawtimber contributes a total of 4,136 board feet per acre. Additionally, pine fiber will contribute 21 tons per acre while hardwood fiber will contribute 15 tons per acre. A secondary sale area totaling 6.992 acres and comprised primarily of pre-commercial sized old-field pine and hardwood is available to loggers utilizing whole-tree chippers. Loggers utilizing a whole-tree chipper on site may harvest all trees from within the secondary sale area. Loggers without a whole-tree chipper are prohibited from entering the secondary sale area with equipment or harvesting trees from within this area.
