Wendell, N.C. (March 19, 2007) — Professional artist Susan Brabeau has completed a painting titled "Coloring with Jake" featuring Rawlings Consulting Forestry employee Jacob (Jake) Harley Rawlings at 10 weeks of age. The 18 inch by 24 inch original art work features a blonde haired, pig-tailed child lying on the floor while coloring in a book with the assistance of Jake, who finds chewing on the crayons more entertaining.
Ms. Brabeau has produced commissioned artwork for the permanent collections of the City of Raleigh, The League of Municipalities, Disney Epcot Center, NBC, ABC, Warner Brothers and Orion Pictures. She also produced the 20 foot by 80 foot outdoor mural at the famous Micelli's Italian Restaurant overlooking Universal Studios, and it was used as a backdrop for the feature films "Hot Moves" and "Eye on L.A." More recently, Ms. Brabeau has received the "Best of Show Award" at the 2006 North Carolina State Fair and the first place "Jerry Miller Award" at the 2006 City of Cary Lazy Daze Art Festival.
"The imagery of Susan Brabeau appeals to the viewer on
several levels: bringing forth moods and sentiments of a
by gone era, creating an illusion of life so completely
that the viewer can almost hear the sounds within an image."
