Senior Forester Attends Appalachian Society of American Foresters Conference

Pinehurst, N.C. (January 26, 2007) — Senior forester, Bradley J. Rawlings, attended the 2007 winter conference of the Appalachian Society of American Foresters (APSAF) held in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The three day event began with a pre-conference workshop and tour focused on the use of herbicides in the forested environment. Topics of the primary sessions included Forestry Carbon Credit Verification, Woody Biomass Energy Production, Bio-Technological Solutions to Adding Forest Value, Plantation Spacings, Forest Policies and Strategies to Stem the Tide of Forest Land Conversion, Making Fuels from Trees, Harvesting Technologies, and Emerging Technologies. Other events included the APSAF business meeting and the NC Division SAF business meeting. Individuals in attendance for the entire event qualified to receive 12 hours of continuing education credits.
